Western Christian High School is pleased to announce a significant appointment for the 2018-19 school year in regard to the staff at Western.
Travis Kooima has accepted the position as Activities Director at Western Christian High School. Kooima has taught at Western for 10 years and has also served as Head Football Coach for 12 years. Currently, Kooima is also the Head Boys Track Coach and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach. In his new role at Western Christian he will replace Bill Harmsen as the Activities Director, teach in the Physical Education Department and continue some coaching responsibilities. Harmsen has elected to step down as the Activities Director next year.
Dan Barkel, school principal, says, “Travis will bring enthusiasm and hope to build on the fine work that our previous Activities Directors have done for many years at Western.” Kooima is a 2005 graduate of Northwestern College and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Dordt College
