No. 9 Iowa State men prepare to host No. 22 Arizona Saturday night

Ames, Iowa (RI) – Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger hopes senior guard Keshon Gilbert will return to the lineup on Saturday night when the ninth ranked Cyclones host 22nd-ranked Arizona.

Gilbert missed the last two games with a muscle strain as ISU dropped road games at Houston and Oklahoma State.

Otzelberger has been preaching consistent effort this week in practice. It is something he felt was lacking in Tuesday night’s upset loss at Oklahoma State.

The Cyclones have struggled when missing key players due to injury or illness.

The Cyclones are tied for fourth in the Big 12 at 11-6 and are 21-7 overall and Otzelberger says there needs to be sense of urgency.

Arizona is currently second in the Big 12 at 13-4 and used a half court shot to force overtime in an 86-75 victory over the Cyclones in their first meeting a month ago.
