Noteboom to Play for Dordt

Dordt_Defenders logoDeidra Noteboom, senior at Unity Christian High School in Orange City, Iowa has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the women’s basketball and soccer programs.

Noteboom currently averages seven points has 83 rebounds, 45 assists, 32 steals, and shoots 73% from the free throw line for the third ranked Knights who finished the regular season as conference champions. In 2105 Noteboom was part of a Unity Christian team that finished with a perfect 27-0 record, en route to winning the Iowa Class 2A State Championship. As a junior, she was named all-conference honorable mention, and was named player of the game during the state tournament. The three-year varsity player was also named honorable mention as a sophomore. In 2014 Unity finished as the class 3A state runner-up.

In soccer, Noteboom anchors Unity Christians backfield as a defender. She was named first team all-conference as a sophomore and followed that up with an honorable mention honor as a junior. She is also a three year varsity volleyball player, being named all-conference honorable mention as a junior and senior.

“Deidra is a work horse. You know when she gets onto the floor or field she will give the team everything she has. She is strong, plays with a lot of heart, and leads her team well. We are excited to see her develop on the basketball court and the soccer field. We feel that she will be a great asset to both programs and the overall campus at Dordt. Both Coach Elgersma and I believe she will thrive here at Dordt,” said head women’s basketball coach Katie DeWitt-Severson.

Deidra is the Daughter of Jeff and Kim Noteboom of Orange City, Iowa. She intends to study business at Dordt.
