Orange City, Iowa — The Northwestern College baseball team returns to the diamond when they host Morningside for one, nine-inning non-conference game Tuesday night. First pitch is slated for 5pm.
Northwestern has won three straight, six of its last eight games, for a 14-18 overall record; Morningside has dropped three of its last four and brings a 17-22 mark into Tuesday night’s contest.
This will be the third game of the season between the two rivals with the teams splitting the conference doubleheader played in Orange City on March 26. Morningside earned an 11-4 win in game one, behind the pitching of Caleb Thomson who struck out nine in 6.2 innings and an offense that hit five home runs. Game two went to the hosts 5-2, getting six strong innings from Brady Roberts and home runs by Colton Harold, Gavin Lorenzen and Jaden Snyder.
