La Crosse, Wisconsin — The Northwestern Volleyball team will take the court for the first time since November 14th, opening the spring season against No.20 Viterbo in a non-conference match-up. Game time is set for 6pm. The seventh-ranked Raiders enter the match with a record of 15-3; the V-Hawks are 10-6 overall and a perfect 8-0 this spring.
Viterbo comes into Thursday with an eight-match win streak, defeating #12 Bellevue and Dakota State last week. They hold a 10-6 record, going 10-4 in North Star Athletic Association play. This will be their ninth game of the spring.
Ryan DeLong is in his 16th season as the Viterbo V-Hawks’ head women’s volleyball coach. A six-time conference Coach of the Year, DeLong as a .737 win percentage with a record of 476-170. Under DeLong’s leadership, the V-Hawks have won seven regular-season conference titles, six conference tournament titles, qualified for the NAIA National Tournament seven times, and made it to the semifinals at 2019 NAIA National Championship. They return three All-Americans and all but one rotation player from last year’s squad that lost in the semi’s to Westmont.
The Red Raiders enter their first match of the spring with a record of 15-3 after finishing conference play with a record 13-3 last fall.
