Sioux Center, Iowa– Mitchell Sandbulte, a senior at Sioux Center High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender baseball and football programs.
Sandbulte, an offensive lineman, earned all-district honors in football for the 2014 season while helping Sioux Center to a state runner-up finish. He was also a letterwinner in 2013 when Sioux Center advanced to the state semifinals. Sandbulte also claimed academic all-conference honors in 2014.
Sandbulte earned honorable mention all-conference accolades as a junior while batting .263 with 21 hits, 22 runs batted in, three doubles and a .985 fielding percentage at first base. Sioux Center claimed the Siouxland Conference title in 2014.
Mitchell is the son of Owen and Teresa Sandbulte of Sioux Center, Iowa. He plans to study Agriculture and Education at Dordt College.
