Segar Transfers To NWC, To Play Soccer

Brett Segar of Hull will transfer to Northwestern after completing one year at Hawkeye Community College.

His most natural position is left back, a position he played for Coach Dan Van Ruler at Sioux Center High School. During his senior season in 2019 Brett helped Sioux Center to a 15-5 record and a third place finish in the state. Brett was a 2-year captain at Sioux Center and was recognized as an all-conference honoree in 2019. At Hawkeye he earned 1st Team Academic All-Region honors. Brett plans to study Business Administration during his time at Northwestern.

Coach Swier on Segar: “Brett is a familiar face for us. We recruited him in high school and are happy to welcome him to Northwestern after his stint at a community college. Brett knows how to compete at a high level and we are excited to see him bring that to our program.”
