Sheldon Iowa — The Sheldon Orabs wrapped up the regular season with a 58-39 home win over Sibley Ocheyedan Friday night. The Orabs jumped out to a 20-5 first quarter lead and used that as the spring board to the win. At the half Sheldon was up 33-16 and after three quarters they were in front 43-30.
Sheldon got a game high 17 points from Kyle Boerhave and 12 from Ryan Van Marel. The Genrals put two players in double figures as well. Hudson Feldkamp put together a double-double hitting for 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Evan Mehls hit a pair of three pointers on the way to a 10 point night.
The Class 2A District 2 tournament is next for both teams. Sheldon got a bye into the semi final round Thursday at the Western Christian Gym. They will host the winner of Monday nights 6:30 game at Okoboji between Sibley Ocheyedan and West Lyon. The 8:30 game will match Emmetsburg against host team Okoboji. The winner of that one will draw Western Christian in the 8:00 o’clock game Thursday night.
