Sheldon Iowa — Sioux Center broke open a close game with two long time consuming drives in the second half as they turned a 26-21 halftime lead into a 40-21 win.
The Warriors scored first as quarterback Ko Keift went in from a yard out. Christian Oliveres added the extra point and Sioux Center led 7-0 with 10:03 left in the first quarter.
Sioux Center made it 14-0 on a 3 yard keeper by Keift with 1:20 left in the first following a successful point after.
Sheldon got on the board in the second quarter as they went 56 yards in 7 plays. The finish was a 10 yard Jaden Kleinhesselink run. Jake Roos added a 2-point conversion and the Orabs were within 14-8 with 11:56 left in the second quarter.
Sioux Center responded with a Dalton Schreiner 1 yard run. A 2-point attempt was no good and the lead was 20-8 with 9:18 left in the half.
Sheldon came right back with a 2 play 67 yard drive capped by a 66 yard touchdown pass from Jaden to Colby Kleinhesselink. Parker Nissen added the extra point and Sheldon had cut the lead to 20-15 with 8:25 left in the half.
Sioux Center was on the board again as Ko Keift hit Marcus Winterfeld for a 25 yard touchdown. The kick was blocked and the lead was 26-15 with 6:31 left in the half.
Sheldon cut the lead to 26-21 following a fumble recovery by Colby Kleinhesselink. The 11 play 55 yard drive was finished with a 7 yard pass from Jaden to Phillip Cain.
The second half belonged to Sioux Center as they used a pair of long time consuming drives to put the game away. The first was capped by a 10 yard Keift to Winterfeld pass and the second ended on a 33 yard pass from Keift to Blake Kammerman to make the final 40-21 in favor of Sioux Center.
