Orange City, Iowa — Michael Storey of Spencer has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next year.
A 6’3”, 185-pound wide receiver and defensive back, Storey played three years for the Spencer High School football team. Storey accumulated 800 receiving yards, 100 tackles and 16 interceptions for his career, earning all-state honors both his junior and senior years. As a senior, Storey recorded 35 tackles and four interceptions on defense to go with 18 catches for 339 yards and four touchdowns on offense. He helped lead his team to the state quarterfinals, finishing with an 8-3 record. A three-time all-district pick, Storey was selected to play in the Iowa Shrine Bowl and is a member of the honor roll. He plans to major in Business Administration at Northwestern and is the son of Jamie Storey and Tarrel Habben.
“Michael had an outstanding high school career at Spencer,” said Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. “He is an elite athlete and is a proven playmaker on both sides of the ball. Michael will be an impact player for us and we are excited to have him join our football team and campus community.”
