Sioux Center, Iowa — Tara Tilstra, a senior at Unity Christian High School has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender track and cross country programs.
Tilstra helped Unity to a state cross country title in 2012, a second place finish at the state meet in 2013 and a fourth place finish in 2014. She claimed all-conference honors in 2012 and 2014 and received the Academic All-State Award this past fall (senior with at least a 3.8 grade point average). Her personal best on a 4,000 meter cross country course is 15:13.
Tara is the daughter of Dr. Shawn Scholten and William Tilstra. She plans to study Civil Engineering at Dordt College.
