Three Red Raiders Claim All-Conference Honors

Three Red Raiders were named to the 2018-19 GPAC Women’s Golf All-Conference team as announced by the league office earlier Tuesday.

Chanda Zomermaand was named to the 15-player first team and earned the postseason honor for the third straight season. Zomermaand finished tied for 10th at the 72-hole GPAC Championship, the top Red Raider golfer. The junior was second on the team with an 84.6 scoring average this season, seventh lowest in program history. Zomermaand recorded one top five and three top 10 finishes.

Both Kate Wynja and Shayla Murray earned honorable mention recognition, two of the four players to receive the honor. Wynja enjoyed an outstanding freshman year for Head Coach Catherine Van Der Weide’s squad, leading the team with an 83.2 scoring average, tied for the second best season scoring average in program history. Wynja tied for 16th at the conference championship and posted three top 10 finishes. Murray was third on the team with an 85.2 scoring average and placed in the top 10 in one meet. The senior tied for 18th at the conference championship and receives the postseason honor for the first time.
