(Logo courtesy of the Great Plains Athletic Conference)Sioux City, Iowa – Two Northwestern College Red Raiders have been named as Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cross-Country Runners-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Wednesday, September 9th.
Emily DeGroot of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. DeGroot, a senior from Orange City, Iowa, was the top GPAC finisher and second among NAIA athletes at the Augustana Twilight on Friday night.
She ran a 5K personal best of 18:10.6 to finish 21st overall at the event.
Caleb Tofteland of Northwestern College is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Tofteland, a sophomore from Wichita, Kansas, was the top GPAC finisher and second among NAIA athletes at the Augustana Twilight.
He finished in 15th place out of 478 runners, crossing the finish in a time of 15:13.6.
