Two Red Raiders earn GPAC Football Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – Two Northwestern College football players were named as Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Players-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Monday, Oct. 21st.

Defensive back Kole Telford of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Telford, a senior from Rock Rapids, Iowa, picked off two passes and had a pair of tackles in Saturday’s road win at Waldorf. One of his interceptions set the Raiders up in the red zone, as he had 12 yards on interception returns.

Eli Stader of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Stader, a senior from Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, went 6-for-6 on PATs in Saturday’s 45-7 win at Waldorf. He also cashed in on a 33-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Stader punted the ball one time for 42 yards inside the 20 and had three touchbacks on eight kickoffs. The Raiders host Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday, October 26. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
