Vermillion, South Dakota – For the second week in a row, the South Dakota State University football team will play a rivalry game, traveling Saturday to in-state foe University of South Dakota.
Kickoff for the South Dakota Showdown Series game is slated for 1 p.m. at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.
The Jackrabbits, 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, made a leap of five spots in each of the two major Football Championship Subdivision polls this week following a 27-19 home victory over second-ranked North Dakota State on Nov. 6. SDSU is fourth in this week’s Stats Perform media poll and seventh in the FCS Coaches rankings.
South Dakota remains in the playoff hunt with a 6-3 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the MVFC. The Coyotes, ranked 17th by the coaches and 19th by the media, racked up a 42-21 road win at Western Illinois last week.
