Two Injured In Rollover Crash South Of George

George, Iowa — Two people were taken to the Sanford Rock Rapids ER in the aftermath of a single vehicle rollover crash early Wednesday afternoon south of George.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened shortly before 2:00 Wednesday afternoon, a half-mile south of George on Kennedy Avenue. Troopers say 50-year old Tammie Fae Kremin, of Rock Rapids, was southbound in a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup, when she lost control on an ice covered bridge, crossed the center line, and entered the east ditch, where the truck rolled, coming to rest on its wheels.

According to the crash report Kremin and a passenger, 46-year old Christopher Robin Smith, Sr., of Beaver Creek, Minnesota, were both injured in the crash. Both were taken to the Sanford Rock Rapids ER, Kremin by Lyon County Ambulance, Smith by George Ambulance. Both suffered injuries the crash report describes as “non-life threatening.”

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by George Fire & Rescue, George Ambulance, and Lyon County Ambulance.

Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
