Sheldon Community Schools will offer a free Summer Lunch Program from June 1st through August 14th at East Elementary. Meals will be served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and families are asked to use the north door when arriving. Children 18 and under eat free, and busing is available at in‑town bus stops. Parents are welcome to attend as well. No meals will be served on July 3rd due to the July 4th holiday. The Sheldon Public Library invites all ages to enjoy its Plant a Seed, Read Summer Reading Program from June 1st through July 18th. Daily passive activities inside the library include a themed coloring poster, city‑wide bingo, a Change the Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head activity, Chalk Our Walk, a summer‑long book‑guessing jar and a bean‑in‑the‑jar reading tracker. These activities are available anytime the library is open and are designed for readers of all ages.

The Community Blood Bank will host the All‑American Blood Drive with KIWA Radio and the Sheldon Chamber on Tuesday, June 16th. Donation hours are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 4:30 p.m. Donors may schedule an appointment online or by scanning the event QR code. The Community Blood Bank is the sole supplier of all blood and blood products for Osceola Regional Health Center and other area hospitals.
