Prairie Woods Nature Center will host a Charcuterie Board Make and Take on Monday, March 30, with sessions from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will personalize their own charcuterie board using Iowa‑sourced cherry wood and learn a wood‑burning technique using a pre‑selected stencil. Spots are limited and pre‑registration is required. Cost is $60 per board, and payment should be mailed in.

The American Red Cross will hold a Sheldon Area Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 31 from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church Fellowship Hall. The Sheldon Public Library will begin its Bookmarks Challenge on Wednesday, April 1st at 3:45 p.m. for students in grades K-12. Participants may design a bookmark using themes of books, reading, “Plant a Seed, Read,” or favorite book characters. Bookmarks must be 7" x 2.5", created on printer paper, and submitted to the library by 5:30 p.m. on April 24th with the student’s name, grade, and phone number on the back. Prairie Woods Nature Center will host a Live Eagle Program on Saturday, April 18th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Guest naturalist Christina Roelofs of Shelby County and the Iowa DNR will present with Callie, a non‑releasable adult female bald eagle. Roelofs has more than 20 years of experience working with raptors. Pre‑registration is required. The program is free thanks to sponsorship from the Sioux County Conservation Foundation.
