Boyden Teen Injured In Single-Vehicle Accident

Boyden, Iowa — A Boyden teen was injured in a single-vehicle accident near Boyden shortly before 5:10 Thursday afternoon.

According to a report from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Emma Wells, of Boyden, was northbound on Kennedy Avenue, one-half-mile north of Boyden in a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix when she lost control of the car and entered the east ditch.

Wells was taken to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Boyden Ambulance following the mishap.

Deputies estimate the damage to Wells’ car at approximately $4,000.

Wells was reportedly ticketed for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle in connection with the crash.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Boyden Ambulance and Boyden Fire Department.
