Fire Department Called To Truck Fire On Highway 60

Sheldon, Iowa — A fire on a livestock trailer caused Sheldon firefighters to be called out to Highway 60 in Sheldon early Tuesday evening.

Assistant Fire Chief Randy Harms tells KIWA that the call came in sortly after 6:35 Tuesday evening at mile marker 32 on Highway 60 in Sheldon. Harms says the rear driver’s side trailer brake had overheated and caught fire. He says by the time the Sheldon Fire Company arrived on scene the truck driver, along with a Sheldon Police Officer, had managed to extinguish the blaze.

Harms says the truck driver drove to the off-ramp to repair the damage.
