Orange City, Iowa — Four Sioux County men were arrested over the weekend in connection with an investigation dating back to June of this year.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, November 22nd, and Saturday, November 23rd, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Jesus Soto-Gonzalez of Hull, 18-year-old Jaren Kelhower, 25-year-old Jacob Prado, and 19-year-old Ethan Van Bemmel, all of Orange City.
Authorities say the arrests are the result of a sheriff’s office investigation that began on Sunday, June 9th, when Sioux County Communications received a report of a 14-year-old male that had been brought to the Orange City Hospital for severe alcohol intoxication. Deputies say the teen was later flown to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls for further treatment. Authorities note that the teen has since made a full recovery.
Through the course of the investigation, officials say they discovered that Soto-Gonzalez, Kellhower, Prado and Van Bemmel each allegedly played a role in contributing to the delinquency of the 14-year-old which caused a life-threatening condition.
Deputies say Soto-Gonzalez was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Kelhower was charged with interference with official acts. Prado was charged with supplying alcohol to a person under the age of 21 leading to serious injury and Van Bemmel was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
