UPDATE: Reward Offered For Information On Sanborn Burglaries

Primghar, Iowa — A reward is being offered for information regarding four recent business burglaries in Sanborn.

According to Sanborn Police Officer Greg Jacobsma, the four business burglaries happened early on Friday morning, October 12th. Jacobsma says, “the only thing taken in each of the burglaries was money.” The four businesses that reported break-ins were Jay’s Restaurant and Lounge, the Sanborn Pizza Ranch, Dyno’s Convenience Store, and Sanborn Foods.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone who has information related to these crimes to contact the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office or the Sanborn Police Department with their information. The O’Brien County Crime Dusters program is offering a $600 reward to anyone who provides information on this crime that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offenders.

Officials tell us that people can provide information on this crime or any other crimes by calling the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office at 712-957-3415. When you call, you’ll speak to a deputy sheriff who will take your information. People can also provide information or tips on crimes by using the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office website at www.obriencountysheriff.com. They say you can click on the “Resources & Links” tab and then select “Crime Dusters” and a form will be opened where you can submit information. We’re also told that arrangements can be made if you want to remain anonymous but still be eligible for the reward.

Sanborn, Iowa — The people opening four Sanborn businesses on Friday morning discovered that their buildings had been broken into.

According to Sanborn Police Officer Greg Jacobsma, the four business burglaries happened early on Friday morning, October 12th. Jacobsma says the only thing taken in each of the burglaries was money.

The four businesses that reported break-ins were Jay’s Restaurant and Lounge, the Sanborn Pizza Ranch, Dyno’s Convenience Store, and Sanborn Foods.

According to Jacobsma, in each instance, forced entry was made to the building. He says most of the entries were made through back doors. He says one glass door was shattered in the incident. The officer says the perpetrator or perpetrators used a pry bar or a similar tool to gain entry.

Officer Jacobsma says that the investigation continues. He says if you have any information regarding these crimes, you are asked to contact the Sanborn Police Department or the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office at 712-957-3415.
