Granville Man Arrested On Warrant For 2020 Sex Abuse Charges

Maurice, Iowa — A Granville man has been arrested on a warrant for sex abuse charges.

According to the Sioux County Arrest Log, officers arrested 39-year-old Marvin Cax-Agueda on a warrant at Highways 75 and 10 near Maurice on Monday. The charges against him were filed in 2020.

According to court information, Cax-Agueda was arrested on a warrant for Third Degree Sexual Abuse and Lascivious Acts With A Child, both class C felonies. If convicted, Cax-Agueda could face up to ten years in prison on each charge.

According to the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s office, and confirmed by Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle, the criminal complaints in the case are not available to the media or general public, due to a judge’s order.

At last report, Cax-Agueda remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $20,000 cash or surety bond.
