Hull, Iowa — A house was damaged in a fire on Sunday, August 16, 2020, in Hull.
According to Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel, about 7:35 p.m., the Hull Fire Department was called to the report of a house fire at 1403 Maple Street in north-central Hull.
The chief says the fire department saw smoke coming from the attic as they approached the scene. He says they made entry through the attic and eventually found a shorted exhaust fan, which caused the issue.
Van Roekel says no injuries were reported.
The Rock Valley Fire Department automatically responds to structure fire calls in Hull along with Hull firefighters, but Van Roekel tells us they sent them back to Rock Valley.
Chief Van Roekel reports that there was slight damage.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene between a half-hour and forty-five minutes.
