A Hull woman was taken to the hospital after striking cattle on Tuesday, October 27th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 9:00 pm, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a motorist saying there were numerous black cattle on the roadway on A-34. While they were on route, Johanna Helena Van Beek of Hull was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion eastbound on A-34. According to the report, she did not see the cattle on the roadway and struck three of the cattle.
The Ford received $4000 damage. The value of the three dead cattle was estimated at $4200.
Van Beek was not injured in the accident but was taken to Hegg Memorial Health Center in Rock Valley by private vehicle as a precaution.
Lyon County Deputies were assisted on scene by Lyon County Ambulance, Alvord Fire Department, and Inwood Rescue.
