George, Iowa — A Minnesota man faces a felony charge, as well as a handfull of misdemeanors, after a traffic stop near George late Saturday night (January 6th).
Lyon County authorities say one of their deputies stopped a car for a moving violation southeast of George about 11:15 Saturday night. Deputies say the car was being driven by 35-year old Joseph Kruger of Chandler, Minnesota.
Authorities say it was discovered that Kruger was allegedly suspended from driving in Iowa, and was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the traffic stop.
Deputies say Kruger was placed under arrest, and is charged with: Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd Offense, a Class D Felony; Failure to have an Ignition Interlock Device; Driving While Suspended; Failure to File SR-22 Insurance; and Excessive Speed for allegedly traveling 74-mph in a 50 mph zone. Authorities say that all charges, other than the Felony Operating While Intoxicated charge, are simple misdemeanors.
Kruger was reportedly transported to the Lyon County Jail following his arrest.
