Larchwood, Iowa — A Minnesota woman faces one felony and several misdemeanor narcotics-related charges following her arrest Friday morning at Grand Falls Casino near Larchwood.
Court records indicate the arrest of 40-year-old Angel Lee Ellingson stemmed from a routine patrol of the casino parking lot by a Lyon County Deputy.
Records indicate that Lyon County K-9 Rizzo allegedly alerted to the scent of illegal narcotics coming from a vehicle in the parking lot. The deputy then reportedly located the vehicle’s owner, Angel Ellingson, inside the casino. According to court records, Ellingson allegedly admitted to having illegal drugs inside the vehicle, and consented to a search.
According to authorities, the search yielded a zipper bag that allegedly contained THC oils, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. In addition, deputies say they found another zipper bag in the car’s trunk that allegedly contained marijuana, THC oils, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A box in the trunk also allegedly contained 122 cartridges of THC oils.
Ellingson was placed under arrest and transported to the Lyon County Jail on a charge of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp for “forty-two and a half grams or more of a substance consisting of or containing marijuana,” which is a Class D Felony. In addition, she was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of THC Oils, all of which are Serious Misdemeanors. She was also charged with two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, which is a Simple Misdemeanor.
