Pair Face Litany Of Felony Charges In Connection With Marcus Burglaries

Marcus, Iowa — A pair of northwest Iowa men face a litany of felony charges as the result of an investigation into a string of burglaries and thefts in and around the town of Marcus.

According to a release from the Marcus Police Department, the incidents took place between October 11th and October 17th, and included burglaries to businesses and automobiles, as well as thefts from multiple windmill sites.

Marcus Police say they conducted a joint investigation with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, and executed a search warrant  on a vehicle they say was determined to have been involved in these incidents. During the execution of the warrant, officers reportedly recovered stolen property related to the burglaries and thefts. Officers later served a search warrant on a residence in Marcus and reportedly recovered stolen property, burglary tools, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Marcus Police say the investigation resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old Andrew Bock of Marcus, who was arrested on a total of nine felony charges and three misdemeanors.

In addition, 36-year-old Allen Mittrucker of Sioux City was arrested on a warrant in connection with the incidents, according to police. They say he faces a total of nine felony charges, and one misdemeanor.

The Marcus Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office during the course of the investigation.
