Orange City, Iowa — A Remsen woman faces a felony drug charge after a traffic stop in Orange City.
Orange City Police say they arrested 35-year-old Stephanie Sue Hardy of Remsen on Thursday evening, after a traffic stop.
Officers say that they believed that Hardy was operating a motor vehicle while her driver’s license was suspended and without the required SR-22 insurance.
During the traffic stop, officers say they searched Hardy’s vehicle and located a small glass vial containing a crystal-like substance. They tell us the substance allegedly field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Hardy was arrested and charged with third or subsequent offense possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison.
She also faces misdemeanor charges of driving while license suspended and failure to maintain SR-22 (high-risk) insurance.
She was arrested and was booked into the Sioux County Jail. She was released on bond the same day.
