Sheldon Woman Taken To Hospital After Wednesday Morning Accident

Sheldon, Iowa– A Sheldon woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sheldon on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that at about 9:00 a.m., 22-year-old Zoe Dunn of Sheldon was driving a 2000 Pontiac westbound on Highway 18, just west of the Floyd River bridge between the concrete plant and NCC.

The report says that Dunn is believed to have begun experiencing medical problems causing her not to be able to maintain control of her vehicle. The vehicle entered the eastbound lane and struck the guard rail of the bridge. The officer says her vehicle then continued off the roadway down the ditch on the south side of the roadway and came to rest in the yard of 511 West Park Street.

The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team (SCAT) took Dunn to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Dunn’s Pontiac sustained about $500 in damages.
