Spencer, Iowa — Multiple charges have been filed against a Spencer man after he allegedly threatened a family member with a chainsaw.
Spencer police say they were called a little before 4:00 p.m. Sunday to a residence in Spencer after getting a report that a family member had been assaulted. Officers arrived on the scene and upon investigating, arrested 29-year-old Challer Wadsley, who is also accused of using a chainsaw to further intimidate the victim.
As police were attempting to take Wadsley into custody, they say he became combative. Officers then deployed a taser. He was then arrested. He was charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony. If convicted of a class C felony, Wadsley could face up to ten years in prison. He also faces misdemeanor charges of domestic abuse assault impeding airflow and interference with official acts. Wadsley was booked into the Clay county jail where he’s being held on a $25,300 bond.
