Three Arrested After Search Warrant In Ashton

Ashton, Iowa — An Ashton woman faces felony drug-related charges and two others face misdemeanor drug charges after a search warrant was carried out in Ashton on Friday morning.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that their deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Second Avenue in Ashton. Deputies arrested 37-year-old Brandie Jo Vander Plaats of Ashton on felony and misdemeanor counts, and 32-year-old Alicia Marie Abrahamson and 43-year-old Justin David Haubrich on misdemeanor counts only. All are from Ashton.

Deputies charged Vander Plaats with possession of a controlled substance, third offense – methamphetamine; failure to affix a tax stamp; and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver; all class D felonies. She was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. They tell us Vander Plaats was held on $15,300 bond.

Abrahamson was charged with possession of controlled substance first offense-methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Abrahamson was held on a $1,300 bond.

Haubrich was charged with possession of controlled substance Second offense – methamphetamine, an aggravated misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Haubrich was held on a $2,300 bond.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says the Iowa State Patrol Tactical Team and the Division of Narcotics Enforcement assisted them with the search warrant and arrests.
