Akron Man Faces Sex Abuse Charges In Sioux County

Hawarden, Iowa — A 64-year-old Akron man was arrested Tuesday on a felony warrant for a crime he allegedly committed between 2016 and 2018.

According to court records, sometime between May, 2016 and June, 2018, Kevin James Jacobs of Akron allegedly committed sexual abuse of his step-granddaughter while camping in a Sioux County Park near Hawarden.

Online court records indicate that an investigation into the alleged incident led to a 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse charge, which is a Class B Felony, being filed against Jacobs on March 31st of this year. A warrant for his arrest was issued April 1st, with the warrant being executed by Sioux County authorities Tuesday (April 6th), according to court records.
