Sioux City Man Arrested On Felony Charge Near Alton

Alton, Iowa — A Sioux City man was arrested on a felony charge after being pulled over near Alton late Tuesday night.

According to court records, 52-year-old Kendall Wayne Holland of Sioux City was stopped on Highway 60 near Alton shortly after 11:00 Tuesday night by a Sioux County Deputy Sheriff.

Holland was placed under arrest for 3rd Offense OWI, which is a Class D Felony. Court records indicate that Holland was convicted of OWI in Woodbury County on two previous occasions.

In addition, Holland was allegedly found to be in possession of a vape pen and THC cartridge, which led to a charge of 1st Offense Possession of Marijuana, which is a Serious Misdemeanor, in addition to a trio of Simple Misdemeanors; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without an Ignition Interlock, and Interference With Official Acts.

A Preliminary Hearing in the case is set for 9:00 am March 22nd in Sioux County Magistrate Court, according to online court records.
