Sheldon, Iowa — If you bought a Powerball ticket on November 3rd, 4th, or 5th from the Sheldon Hy-Vee C-Store and picked the Power Play option, check your ticket. It could be worth $150,000.
We received word that weekend that someone who purchased their ticket at the Sheldon Hy-Vee C-Store was one number away from winning the large jackpot that night, but did win $150,000. However, according to Iowa Lottery Headquarters in Grimes, no one has contacted them yet about that winning ticket.
Lottery officials tell us that usually if they don’t hear from someone, there are two common reasons. First of all, they haven’t checked and don’t know they’re a winner yet, and secondly, sometimes people want to get their affairs in order or check with a legal or financial representative before coming forward. Obviously, we don’t know why this winner hasn’t come forward.
They do tell us that there’s really no big rush, as winners have up to 365 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize before it goes back to the Lottery.
