6th-8th Grade Youth Can Register for ‘PLUNGE! Into 4-H’ Camp

4h_logoPrimghar, Iowa – Sixth, seventh and eighth graders can step outside their box, try new things and meet new people at an upcoming 4-H camp.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is reminding Northwest Iowa youth to register for the upcoming ‘PLUNGE! into 4-H’ camp to be held April 28-29 at Camp Foster near Spirit Lake.

O’Brien County Extension Youth Coordinator Sarah Fiddelke tells us about it.

She says youth can also participate in service projects.

Fiddelke says 50 to 60 youth normally come to the camp. This year, youth from Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, and Sioux counties are invited.

‘PLUNGE! into 4-H’ is open to all 6th-8th grade 4-H members and/or youth interested in joining 4-H. The two-day event begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28 and ends at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29.

Fiddelke tells us how to register.

She says that During ‘PLUNGE!’ they encourage youth to step outside of their box, try new things and make new friends. She says that throughout the event, they stress positive youth development and empowerment – which is the heart of the 4-H mission.

Youth or parents of youth interested in participating in ‘PLUNGE! into 4-H’ camp are encouraged to visit https://form.jotform.com/4Hregion1/4-h-plunge-2017 to register. Pre-registrations will be accepted until April 25. Parents are reminded that there is a $60 fee per youth to cover lodging, food and all activities and materials.
