Rock Rapids, Iowa — A teen from Brandon, South Dakota has been found safe, but not before all fire departments in Lyon County were called out to help look for him.
On Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office issued a statement saying that they were asking for the public’s help to locate 16-year-old Javon Zuidema. They say that he had been last seen driving eastbound from the area of Ashley Avenue and A26 (180th Street). They described the vehicle he was driving and then asked that if people had seen Zuidema or the vehicle to notify the sheriff’s office.
Lyon County Sheriff Stewart Vander Stoep tells us what happened.
Vander Stoep says that due to the fact that he is a juvenile, he can’t release too much information, but suffice it to say that they needed to find him sooner rather than later.
Zuidema was later found okay in Sioux Falls.
