Annual Sheldon Easter Egg Hunt/Bike Giveaway Is This Saturday

Sheldon, Iowa — An Eastertime annual tradition is back in Sheldon this year — the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for this Saturday.

We talked to Sheldon Chamber Director Shantel Oostra, who gives us the details.

(as said) “This Saturday starting at 10 a.m. we will be meeting at the City Park here in Sheldon, and we’ve got over 10,000 eggs that are filled with candy and other little treats for kids to collect.”

She says that as usual, they’ll be giving bikes away as well.

(as said) “We will be giving away 10 bikes this year. Unfortunately due to COVID, we’ve had a little delay in getting the bikes here. So kids will be receiving a certificate for those bikes.”

Oostra tells us how to proceed if your kids want to hunt for eggs and be eligible to win a bike.

(as said) “We do have a registration form available and you can find that on our website. It’s on our Facebook page. I believe KIWA has it on their website for us as well. So you’ll need that for the bike registration and those forms will not be available the day of…. you’ll have to have one printed off… and kids received them also at the schools too. So make sure you bring that along so you can be entered into a chance to win a bike. And for the Easter Egg Hunt, you simply need to show up by ten o’clock that morning and be ready to go on a hunt.”

Again, the egg hunt is at the Sheldon City Park.
