Another Fatal Accident Near Hull

Hull, Iowa — The second fatal accident in two days has been reported in the Hull area. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports this one happened on 290th Street, two miles north of Hull.

They report that 22-year-old Noah Salentiny of Sioux Falls, SD, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on 290th Street. They say 31-year-old Jillian Meyer of Boyden was driving a 2014 Ford Explorer westbound on 290th Street.

The Sheriff’s Office says Salentiny began turning left toward a residential driveway and the two struck in the westbound lane. After the accident, the Chevrolet entered the north ditch and rolled.

The deputy reports that the Hull Ambulance took Salentiny to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley, where he died as a result of his injuries. Meyer was transported by private vehicle to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries.

They tell us the Chevrolet sustained about $10,000 in damage. The Ford sustained an estimated $14,000 in damage.

The sheriff’s office says the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance Squad and the sheriff’s office technical accident investigator assisted with the response to the accident.
