UPDATE: Pavilion Board To Offer Recommendations to City Council

Sheldon, Iowa — The Crossroads Pavilion Board met in special session Wednesday evening to discuss the resignation of current Crossroads Pavilion General Manager Brittany Behrendsen, who  submitted her letter of resignation late last week.

Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker tells KIWA about the procedure for moving forward on Behrendsen’s replacement.

Kooiker says the Crossroads Pavilion Board decided on some major items to be taken to the City Council for their approval at their next meeting, which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 2nd.

In addition, he says the recommendations will include making the current Assistant General Manager, Heather Jacobs, the Interim Manager, with a pay raise, and seek assistance for her in her Interim Manager role.

Kooiker says the Board will also recommend that options be explored for interim assistance for the Interim General Manager.

All of the recommendations will be brought before the Sheldon City Council at their regular meeting next Wednesday, January 2nd. That meeting will begin at 4:30 in Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center.

Sheldon, Iowa — The Crossroads Pavilion Board will meet this Wednesday evening (December 26th) at 6:00 pm in the Sherwood Boardroom at the Pavilion.

Under “New Business”, the Board will discuss the resignation of Crossroads Pavilion General Manager Brittany Behrendsen. She submitted her resignation to City Manager Sam Kooiker this past Friday afternoon, with an effective date of Wednesday, January 9th.

The Board is also set to discuss the appointment or hiring of an interim General Manager. This discussion may be held in closed session.

That Crossroads Pavilion Board meeting will begin at 6:00 in the Sherwood Boardroom at the Pavilion.

Sheldon, Iowa — The general manager of the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center in Sheldon has submitted notice that she will be leaving that position early next year.

Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker says Brittany Behrendsen turned in her resignation mid-afternoon Friday, and will be leaving her job effective Wednesday, January 9th.

Behrendsen gave no reason for her departure in her letter of resignation. She was the first general manager of the event center, and has been in that position since May of last year.

Kooiker says Behrendsen’s resignation will be one of the items on the agenda for the Crossroads Pavilion Board Meeting this coming Wednesday, December 26th.
