Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Community Blood Bank is going to be back in our area the day after Independence Day, and they could really use your help.
Ken VerSteeg is the Executive Director of the Community Blood Bank and he tells us about the blood drive at Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids on July 5th.
He says they always want people to, what he calls, “support your blood type.”
He tells us that like the recent Sheldon drive, this is also an “All American Blood Drive.” He says donors will get a t-shirt and a DQ gift card.
Ver Steeg gives us some reminders.
He says they do need to watch for some blood thinners, but some of them are acceptable now. Call the blood bank at (605) 331-3222 for more information. The drive again is at the hospital in Rock Rapids on Wednesday, July 5th.
