Career Fair Exposes High Schoolers To O’Brien County Career Opportunities

O’Brien County, Iowa — This past Friday’s O’Brien County Career Day introduced the county’s high school sophomores to the career opportunities that exist right here in their back yard, according to Sheldon Development Director Curt Strouth.

Strouth says a big part of Career Day is to get the students inside local businesses to see, firsthand, the opportunities that exist locally.

He says that a Career Day Scholarship was awarded during the event.

Strouth tells us about this year’s Career Day Scholarship winner.

In addition to the O’Brien County Career Day Scholarship. he says the Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation offers what they call a “Homecoming Scholarship.”

Strouth says the 2022 Homecoming Scholarship winner will be announced in the next 30 to 45 days.
