Contract Awarded For Construction Of Sheldon Lewis & Clark Water Tower

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon is one step closer to getting water from the Lewis & Clark Water System, after L&C officials accepted a bid for construction of a new water tower to serve the city.

According to information received from Lewis & Clark, the water system’s Board of Directors has awarded a contract for construction of a one million gallon composite water tower that will be located three miles west of Sheldon.

Lewis & Clark officials say the winning bid of $4,583,000 was submitted by Caldwell Tanks of Louisville, Kentucky.

It is anticipated construction will begin in late spring or early summer of 2022. The substantial completion deadline is October 2023.
