Council To Continue Discussion Of Nuisances & Dangerous Buildings

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will continue their discussion on Nuisances and Dangerous Buildings when they meet in regular session this Wednesday October 17th.

At the last regular council meeting it was announced that the topic would remain on the agenda until something is resolved. The council’s focus has been on the former Thermocel building on Iselin Avenue. The council is waiting for feedback from a business that has indicated an interest in that location. The city has also received interest in the properties located at 426 West Park Street and 1402 South Second Avenue.

In other business, the council will consider approval of a grant application for work to be done at the Sheldon Regional Airport and consider approval of the wages for a new Street Superintendent. They will also be asked to consider a resolution to approve the City Manager Employment Agreement and set the wages for that position.

Wednesday’s Council meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
