Court Appearances Loom For Area Pair Charged With Forgery & ID Theft

Northwest Iowa — Court dates have been set in the cases of one of two area women who face felony charges in several Iowa counties.

According to online court documents, Nikarra Macmain of Ashton will have a pretrial conference in O’Brien County District Court on April 11th, at 9 am.  Macmain entered a written arraignment last week in O’Brien County District Court, along with a plea of not guilty to five counts of Forgery, and Providing False Information.

Macmain also faces a pretrial conference in Palo Alto County this Friday, January 27th.  She’s charged in that county with a total of 10 counts of Forgery, and four counts of Identity Theft, in connection with incidents at multiple Emmetsburg businesses in which authorities have accused her of passing stolen checks.

She’s scheduled for yet another pretrial conference, this time in Harrison County, in west central Iowa, on Monday February 6th.  Harrison County authorities have charged Macmain with Forgery and Identity Theft.

Macmain and her companion, Kendra Van Lo of Archer were arrested in Emmetsburg earlier this month after fleeing from a car crash.  Van Lo reportedly faces one count of Forgery at an Emmetsburg business, but her court appearances have yet to be scheduled, according to online court records.

Police say all of the charges against the pair arose from the passing of stolen, forged checks in multiple jurisdictions in western Iowa.

The Forgery charges are all Class D Felonies, while the Identity Theft charges are Aggravated Misdemeanors.
