Crossroads Pavilion Board To Meet

Events Center 7Sheldon, Iowa — Despite the fact that the City Ordinance creating a Board to guide the new Crossroads Pavilion Events Center has not yet seen final passage, the Board has scheduled their first meeting.

The Crossroads Pavilion Board is comprised of five people, mainly from the Sheldon Community School District, or someone living outside the school district who has a strong interest in the Sheldon community, along with two representatives from the Sheldon City Council.  The Sheldon City Manager will also serve on the advisory board as a non-voting member.  Mayor Katricia Meendering has appointed Kevin Cain, Rob Roozeboom,Laura Vande Brake, Marv Van Riessen, and Peter Wagner to the Board.  The Council representatives will be Zach Sawyer and Pete Hamill.  The Mayor’s appointments were approved by the Sheldon City Council at their February 15th meeting.  The 3rd reading of the ordinance creating the Crossroads Pavilion Board is planned for the next council meeting, which is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8th.

The agenda for the initial meeting of the Crossroads Pavilion Board includes the election of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and other officers deemed necessary.  They’ll also set the Board Monthly Meeting Schedule, and discuss development of a Mission Statement for the facility.

The initial meeting of the Crossroads Pavilion Board will be held Monday, March 6th, at 6:00 pm in the SCDC Conference Room at the Sheldon Community Services Center.
