Despite Rains Sheldon Remains On Water Watch, Probably Until Lewis & Clark Water Is Connected

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon area has been blessed with some rain lately, and we were curious what effect, if any, that would have on the voluntary water restrictions that have been in place since last year.

We asked Sheldon Public Works Supervisor Todd Uhl about it.

And Uhl says that extra water from the Lewis & Clark system is on the way and will probably be here before too much snow flies.

Lewis & Clark is the water pipeline that brings Missouri River aquifer water to several communities and systems in the tristate area. Sioux Center and Hull began receiving the water earlier this year and Sheldon is next. At last report, we were told Sibley should be connected in late 2024/early 2025 if all goes according to plan.
