DOT Announces Changes To Hwy 75 Traffic

Merrill, Iowa — If you travel to Sioux City within about the next three weeks, the Iowa Department of Transportation says you may experience some minor delays.

The DOT says that, beginning Thursday morning (September 28th), both northbound  and southbound traffic on Highway 75 from south of Le Mars to Merrill will be shifted to the newly-constructed southbound lanes, and will be in what the DOT calls a “head-to-head” traffic pattern for about three weeks.

The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office says motorists should expect delays when the lane shifts are taking place.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
