Sheldon, Iowa — A downtown Sheldon business is under new ownership, effective January 1st. Jill Koedam, who has owned A Country Florist in downtown Sheldon for nearly 10 years, has sold the business.
Koedam says that, while she had made an effort to sell the business more than a year ago, the sale kind of fell into her lap.
A Country Florist’s new owner, Amy Burnette, says she bought the business because she always wanted to own a small business.
Burnette says there is a joke in her family about the reason for buying A Country Florist.
She says she is excited about the opportunity to continue delivering the same quality product and service that customers have known for years.
Burnette says Koedam will be staying on until after Valentine’s Day to help her learn the ropes, and make the ownership transition smooth and seamless.
