Eggs And Issues Will Take Place On Saturday In Rock Rapids

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Any Lyon County residents who want to know what is going on in Des Moines have a chance to find out at the Forster Community Center in Rock Rapids on Saturday.

Rock Rapids Chamber of Commerce Director Angie Jager tells KIWA that Eggs and Issues have been going on for as long as she has been with the Chamber and she tells us what it is about.

Jager says other towns also have Eggs and Issues, but may call it something else. She tells us why it is called this.

Each year there is at least one “hot” topic that many people are concerned about. Jager says this may bring new people to the event.

This month, Iowa State Representative Skyler Wheeler will be at Eggs and Issues this Saturday, January 28th, at 8:30 a.m. According to Jager, he will explain what is going on in Des Moines and there will be a time for residents to express their concerns about any issue to him. This event is put on by the Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored this month by Lyon County Rural Electric.

The next Eggs and Issues will be on Saturday, February 25th at 8 a.m. and Iowa State Senator Jeff Taylor will join State Representative Wheeler. The final session is scheduled for one month later — Saturday, March 25th, again at 8 a.m., all at the Forster Community Center in Rock Rapids.
